Shortly after that, Joe traveled to Afghanistan as a private contractor and instructed the Afghanistan Drug Agency on tactics and investigative techniques. In 2016, Joe returned to the Sheriff’s Office as a School Resource Deputy assigned to Galileo School for Gifted Learning.
Joe was a devoted family man and friend. He was notorious for being the first to lend a helping hand or giving the shirt off his back. When not protecting the citizens of Seminole County, he enjoyed spending time with his wife of 41 years, Nanci Negri, riding their motorcycle and tinkering in the garage. They enjoyed frequent trips to Tennessee to visit Joe’s brother and sister-in-law. Joe was also a loving grandfather and could often be found throwing a football with them or taking them to the shooting range. He is survived by wife Nanci Negri, son Jarritt Negri, grandsons Jarritt Negri II and Justin Negri, brother John Negri (Sue Negri), TN, sister Mary Fahrig, VI. Joe will be greatly missed as he was loved and admired by the many who were fortunate enough to know him.
