Tommye Methvin Johnson 87, of Sanford, Florida, passed away on October 7, 2019 in Orlando, Florida. Tommye was a native of Sanford born on June 20, 1932 to Burke G. Methvin and Marie E. Duke Methvin. Tommye grew up in Sanford with her three Sisters Annabelle, Elizabeth, and Emma Jean. She lived three doors down from her childhood sweetheart Harold F. Johnson, and they would marry in 1960, and God would bless them in 1961 with their daughter Sharlee Marie.
Tommye enjoyed keeping busy and loved gardening and going to the beach. She was a long-time member of the Baptist Girls and Happy Hearts. Tommye was very close to her family and her fur baby Maudie Pearl. Tommye was known to have never met a stranger and would enjoy sitting in her garage as neighbors would stop by frequently for a talk and treats for their dogs.
Tommy is predeceased by her husband of 31 years County Judge Harold Johnson, her sisters, and a baby brother Burke Jr. She is survived and will be missed by her daughter Sharlee Johnson Hollingsworth, son-in-law Thom, grandsons Britton Johnson Hollingsworth, and Thomas Isaac Hollingsworth, nieces Tonya Rowland, Jo-Ann Wrennick, Debra Winn, nephew Burke Winn, and their children.
A Memorial Service will be held at the Central Baptist Church 3101 West State Road 46, Sanford Florida, 32771, on Saturday October 19th at 11 am.
