Philip M. Carter, 72, passed away on Monday, September 21, 2020 at Advent Health Hospice , Altamonte Springs. He was born on June 9, 1948 in the military hospital at Fort Monroe, Va. to Philip L. Carter and Gloria Morgan Carter. Phil graduated from Edgewater High School in 1966. Upon his graduation from Orlando Junior College, he transferred to Florida State University and later attended The University of Central Florida. Phil sold Volvo's at the Volvo Store in Winter Park for 18 years. In 1990 he began his 30 year career with Mercedes-Benz at Contemporary Cars in Maitland, which became Mercedes-Benz of Orlando; that successful career continued until his retirement in 2020. Phil loved cars and the car business, and he loved his many customers, who became long time friends; many of whom were as close as family. Phil loved his family, his many friends, riding his bike, his spin classes, and providing the best customer service possible at Mercedes-Benz of Orlando. Phil is survived by his sister Toni Carter Pendergraph and by his beloved cousins Becky Morgan Harmon (Chip), Janice Morgan, John Morgan (Kathy), Mary Ann Morgan Burke (Pat), and his North Carolina cousins Dean Morgan, Jeri Morgan, Rick Morgan, Pam Morgan, and their beautiful families. A celebration of Phil's life is being held on Sunday, October 11, 2020 at 2:00 PM at Northland Church 530 Dog Track Road Longwood, Florida 32750. In lieu of flowers it is suggested that a gift be made in Phil's memory to the charity of one's choice
