Wanda Kay Scoble age 75, of Sanford, Florida, passed away July 28, 2022 after a brave battle with cancer. She was born October 5, 1946, in Fort Payne, Alabama. She was the daughter of the late Aubrey Dare and Gladys (Brockman) Durham. Along with her parents, Wanda is predeceased by one brother James Durham, two sisters, one brother-in-law Mardell (James) Enemark, and Carolyn Hibbard. She is survived by her beloved husband of 52 years David George Scoble, three children Julie Kay (Joseph) Chaleski, Vickie Ann (Luke) Myers, and Andrew David (Kristine) Scoble; seven grandchildren Matthew (Amber) Chaleski, Aubrey Myers, Nicholas Myers, Julia Myers, Ella Myers, Pierson Scoble, and Hadley Scoble; sister-in-law Carol Durham, brothers-in-law George Hibbard and James (Terresia) Scoble, nephews and nieces, James Enemark, Bruce Enemark, Anthony Scoble, Brian Durham, Craig Scoble, Tom Hibbard, Cheri Hibbard and Kristy Scoble. She began her childhood years in Alabama, but later her family moved north to Minnesota. At age 12 She committed her life to Jesus Christ through accepting his saving grace. She was able to accept this grace because of her belief in Jesus's death, burial and resurrection. She graduated from Cambridge High School in 1964 and then attended New Tribes Bible Institute. Her sister Mardell introduced her to her future husband David Scoble while on a visit to Panama. After training for the ministry in Australia, they returned to Panama in 1972. She served alongside her husband as a missionary among the Embera tribe for 32 years. Of utmost importance to her was pleasing her Savior Jesus Christ. She quietly served as the hands and feet of Christ, never wanting personal recognition. A devoted wife, mother and grandmother, she cherished her family, especially her grandchildren (with each one being her favorite). Because her relationship with her savior was of utmost importance, she took time every morning to read her Bible. She loved to whistle and listen to peppy music, her favorites being hymns, Jewish, Celtic, bluegrass and Christmas music. She was a good piano and organ player and often would play for church services. She enjoyed growing and arranging flowers to share with neighbors and friends. She was a kind, patient, frugal, chocolate loving, quiet prankster who loved sacrificially. She leaves a gaping hole in our lives. Proverbs 31:10-12, 26-29 An excellent wife who can find? She is far more precious than jewels. The heart of her husband trusts in her, and he will have no lack of gain. She does him good, and not harm, all the days of her life. She opens her mouth with wisdom, and the teaching of kindness is on her tongue. She looks well to the ways of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness. Her children rise up and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her: “Many women have done excellently, but you surpass them all.” A graveside service will be held for the family on Thursday, August 4, 2022.
